Surprise Bachelorette Picnic

Ciao!

Let’s try to pretend that I haven’t been absent for over a year… To be honest, a lot has changed for me in the past 1-2 years, and I have been focusing more on living LIFE and less on social media/my blog. But things are about to change because I have some exciting posts planned and I can’t wait to share them with you, starting with this one.

Last weekend, I (along with my fellow bridesmaids) surprised my sister, who will be getting married next month, with a surprise Bachelorette picnic. It was a very special and magical day because she had no idea and everything went perfectly. By the way, I’m the gal that is second from the far right – here is a link to the skirt I wore. Speaking of outfit details, I wanted all the girls to go home with something, so I ordered customized t-shirts from Etsy, which were a hit. Okay, now onto the details!

I hired a picnic company based in Vancouver, BC to set everything up. As you can see from the photos, the setup was beautiful and the little details like the bride’s name made it extra special.

Of course I couldn’t let everyone go hungry, so I contacted Olive & Co. Charcuterie via Instagram. They have the most beautiful charcuterie boxes, and even have individualized mini boxes, which was perfect for our event! In my opinion the boxes stole the show – they included fig jelly, various meats, cheeses, grapes, cherries, olives, different types of crackers, nuts, figs, dates, blackberries.. I really have no idea how they were able to fit it all into that mini box!

Something unique about this company is that they offer Brie Cake Workshops. I’ve never heard of this before and wanted to pass this information along to you guys because it would be such a fun girls night or group activity to build your own. Their Signature Brie Cakes include an entire wheel of Brie, adorned with a signature floral arrangement, hand rolled Italian meat flowers, seasonal fresh fruit, dried fruit, local preserve, a decadent piece of honeycomb and crackers. I’m literally salivating as I am typing this.

PS – Christina who is the owner of Olive and Co. was kind enough to offer a discount: Dom10

Last but not least, the dessert was provided by another local company that I once again discovered through Instagram (just shows what an effective form of marketing this app is!). Bakebloomer provided a lovely box of treats for the girls that included cakesicles, hand painted cookies, and chocolate gems. Safe to say all the sweets were gone within minutes.

I hope this post was helpful to you in some way – an outdoor picnic is such a fun way to get friends together and celebrate, and I willl definitely be doing another one in the future!
